Abstract

Three groups of broiler chicks were fed diets containing CP 22%, ME 2932 Kcal/kg (T1); CP 29%, ME 3267 Kcal/kg (T2) and CP 24%, ME 3484 Kcal/kg during 0–3 week age. All the treatment groups were Fed T1 (starter) diet from 4 to 6th wk age and finisher diet during 6 to 8th wk age. Higher plane of nutrition during prestarter stage gave stimulus for faster growth in broilers. However, the feed efficiency reduced with advancing age increasing cost per kg live weight gain.
