Abstract

The construction of the 2,782 mile long Urengoi-Pomary-Uzhgorod pipeline for the export of 32 billion m/sup 3/ of Siberian gas annually to West European countries is described. The severe obstacles that had to be overcome in constructing the pipeline are discussed.
