Abstract
With few exceptions the values of anti ..nu.. for the fissile isotopes have been measured relative to the value of anti ..nu.. for /sup 252/Cf. However, an examination of the reported values of anti ..nu.. for /sup 252/Cf reveals a considerably greater spread in magnitude than is suggested by the accuracies of the individual measurements. The recommended values of anti ..nu.. have been derived with heavy reliance upon eta and ..cap alpha.. measurements. Because of the importance of eta, an analysis was performed of an experiment that measured the value of eta for /sup 233/U, /sup 235/U, and /sup 239/Pu. The results of an analysis of a monoenergetic 0.025-eV measurement of eta for /sup 233/U using the recently developed RECAP-4C Monte Carlo program are presented. This analysis lends additional support to the eta value of 2.298 at 0.025 eV and indirectly to the value of anti ..nu.. based upon this value of eta. (NSA 23: 4004)
