Abstract

The DRIVE project FLEET (Freight and Logistic Efforts for European Traffic) presents a conceptual solution for an integrated freight/fleet and vehicle management system. Within the PROMETHEUS program this concept was proven by developing and implementing technical solutions concerned within an international project group dealing with commercial fleet management. This paper outlines the objectives and results of FLEET and PROMETHEUS, underlines the key points as well as the effects on a commercial introduction and reflects on ongoing and future research activities.
