Abstract

As in years past, BioCycle staff surveyed state solid waste management and waste reduction officials to gather data for the State of Garbage in America report. The most accurate and current information available is used, although it should be noted that some states do not track waste generation, waste disposal or recycling figures continuously. Overall, the annual State of Garbage in America reports provides a representation of trends in how solid waste is being handled in the United States.
