Abstract
Rather than adding more peaking capacity to meet its ever-growing power demands, Southern California Edision is encouraging some industrial customers to install small cogeneration plants which would recover waste energy from one process to be used in a second process. The various questions to be examined in deciding when cogeneraton will be a valid economic effort are presented as are several examples of programs now in actual operation or presently under review.
