Abstract

Stream Control Transmission Protocol (SCTP) is first designed by IETF as a reliable transport protocol to transport SS7 signaling messages over IP networks. But its advanced features which are not provided by TCP or UDP show that SCTP is able to support a wider range of applications than just for signaling transport [4].
