Abstract
Studies were conducted on the effect of soil amendments with neem cake on the populations of root-knot nematode, Meloidogyne incognitn (Kofold and White) Chitwood in cowpea rhlzosphere. Nematode population was lower in field soil amended wIth neem cake than in the oven dried and a u toc la ved soils. This was attributed to greater activity of soil mycofiora (Trichoderma viride Tul., Aspergillus flavus Link., Chaetomium indicum Corda, and Neocosmospora vasinfecta Sm.). Fllterates of these fungi were nematicidal in activity.
