Abstract
Chapter 4 deals with UMTS Access Network. In order to provide an overview of the radio access network and highlight its innovative aspects, the following topics are investigated: General architecture of UTRAN, with a detailed look at AAL2 (ATM Adaptation Layer 2) and macrodiversity. Architecture of the UTRAN protocols. Architecture of the radio protocols, with particular attention to the RRC (Radio Resource Control), RLC (Radio Link Control) and MAC (Media Access Control) layers and the interactions between them. Overview of RRM (Radio Resource Management) functionalities.
A significance statement is not available in the OpenAlex record.
A contribution statement is not available in the OpenAlex record.
Method details are not available in the OpenAlex metadata.
Findings are not separately available in the OpenAlex metadata.
Limitations are not available in the OpenAlex metadata.
Application details are not available in the OpenAlex metadata.
