Where necessary, summary boxes, lists of main events, statistical tables and definitions have been included to guide readers and help students learn factual material in an organised way.Clearly, political issues are, by their nature, constantly evolving and fresh events alter their nature. However, this book is designed to give a framework of knowledge and conceptual understanding into which such changes can be incorporated. Thus, for example, if there are significant developments in social security, police powers or the political system of the EU, the changes can be reviewed and understood in the light of the principles explained in the book. There is, therefore, something for everybody who needs an analysis and review of modern British political issues, whether they be teachers, students or general readers.
