Abstract

Results of a wind tunnel t e s t employing w a l l rougheners as a means of turbulent boundary l a y e r control a r e presented.as being simple, e f f i c i e n t , and capable of yielding predictable r e s u l t s .Boundary layer thickness increases on the order of 100 percent a r e shown t o be possible without undue flow disturbance and v e l o c i t y p r o f i l e d i s t o r t i o n .The r e s u l t s a r e compared with the t h e o r e t i c a l growth of a turbulent boundary This method i s demonstrated layer over a f l a t p l a t e .17.
