Abstract

Abstract This chapter describes Turkey's (i) total merchandise trade and balance of payments; (ii) trade in agricultural products, particularly with the EU; (iii) agricultural trade policy measures and World Trade Organization commitments; and (iv) agricultural trade arrangements with the EU. It is concluded that Turkey is a medium-sized country in agricultural trade terms, and it is therefore not surprising that it has had various differences of opinion with its agricultural trading partners and competitors.
