Chapter 3 The general theory and techniques of analog continuous-time filter design are discussed. Butterworth, Chebyshev, Elliptic and Bessel Filters are discussed. Both passive prototypes and active realizations are treated. A comprehensive application in the design of pulse –shaping filters for data transmission is given. The chapter concludes with a guide to the use of MATLAB® in the design of analog filters.
