Abstract
Finding oil and gas in the D and J sands of the Denver basin requires a special talent. For instance, in 1979, subsurface studies led to one of the more prolific Denver basin field discoveries, when the Zenith field opener was brought in for an initial flow of 1285 bpd from D sand. Continued exploratory drilling in the Denver basin has paid off with several other producers. These include 15 new wells in the Zenith field, producing from both D and J sands. Additional drilling is deemed necessary to delineate the limits of the production area. Plans for a possible waterflood program and enhanced oil recovery programs are also being discussed.
