Abstract

Fat hen Chenopodium album and chick weed Stellaria media are troublesome weeds in sugar beet, a major crop in the Netherlands. Decisions in post emergence control need a quantitative estimation of expected loss at certain density and biomass of the weeds. This field experiment, one of a series, provides results for the validation of a crop-weed competition model, essentially simulating growth of both crop and weed on the basis of physiological parameters.
