This fact sheet evaluates differences in macroinvertebrate community impairment along major drainage areas and physiographic regions in New Jersey, and relates macroinvertebrate community impairment ratings derived by using a modified rapid-bioassessment approach to selected basin characteristics of New Jersey streams. The National Water-Quality Assessment (NAQWA) Program is discussed, especially the Long Island - New Jersey Study Unit (LINJ).
