Abstract
A sheet-beam klystron has been designed, built and tested in the klystron department at SLAC. The first prototype, WSBK-1A, is a 95 GHz W-band device with a 74 kV, 3.6 A electron gun. Favorable hot-test results with greater than 90% beam transmission seem to indicate that the MICHELLE gun code (Petillo, 2000) is an accurate tool for predicting the electron gun behavior of sheet-beam klystrons
