Abstract
The report analyzes the results of an experimental program designed to measure the attenuating properties of a four inch thick basement ceiling against gamma rays scattered in the above-ground wall. A six foot diameter concrete cylinder of varying wall height was used as the test structure. A six foot diameter, six foot diameter, six foot deep cylinder was used as the basement directly under the superstructure. Several comparisons with various theoretical methods and other experimental programs are shown. (Author)
