Abstract

Results from a series of product level fire tests using a fire test protocol representing exposure to a small open flame. The tests were conducted under an open product calorimeter under controlled laboratory conditions are presented. The purpose of these tests was to develop data using an external small open flame ignition test protocol under development by IEC TC 108 Hazard Based Working Group for their consideration. Four commercially available televisions having enclosure materials with differing fire performance were exposed to a small open flame ignition source. Results varied from no ignition to total consumption of the set.
