Biological activity of different plant extracts against armyworm, Spodoptera litura (Fab.) (Lepidoptera: Noctuidae)

Abstract

Hexane and methanol extract of Acorus calamus root and ethyl acetate extract of Wedelia calendulacea leaves showed significant ovicidal activity while ethyl acetate extract of Artemisia nilagrica and hexane extract of A. calamus showed significant ovipositional deterrent activity against Spodoptera litura. Hexane, ethyl acetate and methanol extract of A. nilagrica and hexane extract of A. calamus root showed significant insecticidal activity against S. litura.
