Workings of construction materials in the upper burnett district

Abstract

This paper describes workings of construction materials (quarry rock, sand, gravel and clay) in the central burnett district of Queensland. The main uses for these materials are in road construction and maintenance, concrete aggregate, tramway ballast and brick manufacture. In addition, large volumes of rock have been supplied for the construction of a major dam and associated irrigation works.
