Abstract
The pedicel explants of navel orange were cultured to study the change regulation of β-mannanase in pedicels during the process of flower abscission for analyzing the relationship between β-mannanase and organ abscission. The results showed that the β-mannanase activity in pedicels presented a first decrease and then rise trend during the process of pedicel abscission, ethrel could promote the process of pedicel abscission, improve β-mannanase activity in the abaxial end obviously, and had no obvious promotion effect on β-mannanase activity of the abscission zone and adaxial end, which indicated that β-mannanase was related to pedicel abscission of navel orange but it was not the crucial enzyme.
