Abstract

Alternate technologies \nare the urgent need of the hour to produce more resources from \nthe costal water and also to generate employment opportunities \nfor the fishermen. \nOpen sea cage culture is one answer to address this problem \npartially. India has a cost line of 7517 km where open sea cage \nculture can be initiated at selected places where these systems \nwill not clash with the fishing operation of the traditional and \nmechanized sector.
