Abstract
A field trial was conducted during kharif 2008 and 2009 in alluvial soil to the comparative study of yield and yield components in hybrid and inbred genotypes of rice. The study was conducted for two years. Four inbred (Kasturi, Krishna Hamsa, Tulsi and Vasumati) and one Hybrid (KRH-2) genotypes were raised in a split plot design with four nitrogen levels (0, 50, 100 and 200N kg ha−1). Characters related to yield were recorded after harvesting except panicle weight. The application on N fertilizer respond up to 100 kg N ha−1 in hybrid, while inbred up to 200 kg N ha−1. Further, these studies will be helpful in the designing strategies for optimizing doses of nitrogen fertilizer for better yield in hybrid and inbred genotypes of rice.
