Some liverworts new to Sri Lanka (Ceylon)

The first-named author collected bryophytes in Sri Lanka in 1982, mainly in the Central Highland around Nuwara Eliya,and in 1984, mainly in the hills and mountains of the Southern Province; the last-named author collected in 1985 mainly in the Knuckles Mountains near Kandy and also around Nuwara Eliya. Among the collected bryophytes some liverworts seem to be new to the Singalese flora: these are listed below. The majority of the new findings stresses the close connection between the bryoflora of Ceylon and that of South-East Asia.
