Mr. Coogan and his colleagues have brought together in the volumes underreview a comprehensive, incisive, and insightful collection of critical commentarieson Article 9 of the Uniform Commercial Code. As of their publicationdates, these volumes become the essential source of knowledge for beginningstudent, law professor, practitioner, and judge. During the past few years morethan one "treatise" on Article 9 has been rushed into print. These unhappyproductions may now, with the appearance of Coogan on Secured Transactions,be relegated to the obscurity which they so richly deserve.
