Abstract

This is a protocol for a Cochrane Review (Intervention). The objectives are as follows: To determine the effectiveness and acceptability of conventional chest physiotherapy (airway clearance) compared to other forms of chest physiotherapy in maintaining or improving respiratory function in CF patients. The following hypotheses will be tested: conventional chest physiotherapy is more effective than other forms of chest physiotherapy in maintaining or improving respiratory function; conventional chest physiotherapy is more acceptable to patients than other forms of chest physiotherapy.
