Contents included: the economic characteristics of this market; the regime of regulation 1930-1986; an analysis of cross-subsidization; the deregulation story; market conduct and behaviour under deregulation; performance of the deregulated market; regulating to maintain effective competition. The work is aimed at all those with academic or practical interests in the public transport industry and regulation studies.
