Abstract

Okra is a popular vegetable and is extensively cultivated throughout Asia for its long, tender and immature green fruits during summer and rainy seasons. Deterioration takes place in old varieties. Hence, the breeders engaged in okra improvement need the appropriate breeding procedure for the improvement of different traits. Therefore, the present study was undertaken with the objective to study the gene action of yield and its components in okra using the diallel technique involving twelve parents.
