Abstract

A field trial was laid to evaluate the influence of various organic sources of nutrients against sucking pests of senna indicated that plots applied with vermicompost 2 t/ha + karanj cake 250 kg/ha + bio-fertilizers 2 kg/ha + NPK (40:40:40 kg/ha) was effective in reducing the incidence of sucking pests, recording the overall mean leaflet damage of 4.8% with a reduction over full dose of NPK of 50.5% for thrips and 7.1% shoot damage and 52.3% reduction for aphids in senna main crop. In ratoon crop, same treatment recorded 5.2% leaflet damage and 55.2% reduction over full dose of NPK for thrips and 4.8% shoot damage and 55.5% reduction for aphids.
