Abstract
The National Institute for Aviation Research at The Wichita State University, Wichita, Kansas, is conducting research in Aviation Safety for the Federal Aviation Administration. The research activities are in three areas: Aging Aircraft, Crashworthiness and Structural Integrity, and Human Factors, as listed: (A) Aging Aircraft - (1) Crack detection in aircraft structures, (2) Scratch effects on fatigue of new alloys, (3) Bonded/fusion repair of aircraft structures. (B) Aircraft Crashworthiness/Structural Airworthiness - (4) Crashworthiness experiments, (5) Crash analysis of aircraft seats, (6) Paint removal for composite aircraft, (7) Freeze/thaw damage to composites. (C) Human Factors - (8) Single pilot IFR operations. Program plans for each of the eight projects are presented.
A significance statement is not available in the OpenAlex record.
A contribution statement is not available in the OpenAlex record.
Method details are not available in the OpenAlex metadata.
Findings are not separately available in the OpenAlex metadata.
Limitations are not available in the OpenAlex metadata.
Application details are not available in the OpenAlex metadata.
