Abstract
Body contouring procedures are increasing worldwide due to the increase of the adipose population and bariatric procedures. In this context, the abdominal area is the most commonly treated area in plastic surgery procedures. After pregnancies or weight loss, patients desire improvement of the abdominal wall, including the repair of additional ventral hernias. This chapter describes the details of the assessment of the abdominal region, the different indications of modified abdominoplasty procedures (mini, standard, fleur-de-lis abdominoplasty) and their operative techniques. Furthermore, the indication, technique, outcome and complications of different body-contouring procedures (arm, thigh, breast and body lift) are presented and discussed.
