Siting of Manned Lunar Launch Facilities

The criteria used to select Merritt Island, Fla., as the launch area for the manned lunar landing program; and the launch operations concept, criteria, and considerations used for siting individual facilities at the launch complex are presented. Conclusions are based on the best data available at the time of launch area selection and launch complex layout.
