Abstract
The Copyright and Related Rights Act, 2000 ("the 2000 Act")l brings Ireland into line with its international and European Community neighbours and, as a result, has brought about hndamental changes to the former regime which had existed since 1963.T h s article provides an overview of the old regime that existed prior to the 2000 Act and an overview of the new regime since its introduction, as well as an outline of the international and European context in which it was enacted. 11.
