Abstract

Summary form only given as follows. Organizations need to identify creative employees and provide them with the right environment and stimuli. To do this, managers need to understand how creative individuals generate novel ideas and identify opportunities for innovation. This paper takes a fast look at the ideation process. It is shown that ideation is a nonlinear process of mixing new information and existing knowledge.
