Abstract
Distribution coefficients of uranyl nitrate between diethyl ether and aqueous solution containing metal nitrates as salting-out agents are determined. At equal salting-out mole fractions in aqueous solution, the salting-out effect of nitrates increases directly with cation charge and inversely with radius. The salting-out effect of the zinc sub-group is higher than that of the main group. (R.V.J.)
