Abstract

A field experiment was conducted at Regional Research Station, Anand Agricultural University, Anand (Gujarat) in summer 2007 to assess the residues of fipronil and imidacloprid as combination product following seed dressing in maize with 540 SC formulation (fipronil 18% + imidacloprid 36%) @ 2.7 + 5.4 and 5.4 + 10.8 g a. i. kg−1 seed. The leaves collected on 20, 23, 25, 27, 30, 35, 40 and 45 d after sowing revealed residues below determination limit (0.01 μg g−1) of either insecticide irrespective of the treatment. Immature seeds along with cob sampled 81 d after sowing, mature grain and soil samples collected at harvest i.e. 99 d after sowing revealed residues below determination limit at either dose of seed treatment.
