Abstract

The proposed method of ion etching substantially broadens the possibilities of the petrographic study of anthracites. It permits the anatomical structures of plant tissues to be shown up in gelified and fusinized microcomponents. This makes it possible to use anatomical characteristics in petrographic descriptions of anthracites, to correlate coal beds, and also to establish links between the types of organic matter of a coal and its technological properties.
