Abstract

This chapter explains about recording macros, performing simple editing to enhance your macros, and using macros. It talks about Word's brand of Visual Basic for Applications (VBA). The chapter shows how to record a macro and test it. It also teaches a little about how to edit macros to make them do things that the recorder can't make them do. The basically familiar with the Visual Basic editor, and shouldn't feel intimidated by it. The chapter shows how to do the following: 1. Record a macro, and assign it to the Quick Access Toolbar (QAT) or a shortcut key, 2. Manage Visual Basic projects by creating new modules and copying new macros to them, 3. Manage your macros by storing them in global templates other than Normal.dotm, and 4. Digitally sign your Visual Basic project.
