Abstract

Preparing a detailed cause-effect analyses of crashes is possible only if an appropriate computer system is available and if it includes rich databases about accidents, traffic, highway features including the surrounding environment and weather conditions. Besides data complementarily the system asserts systematic and automatic analyses together with an easy access to data. Such a system was worked out by the authors and initiated in some Polish cities. Its name is RMIS (Road Management Information System). In the paper the authors present the system and provide several examples with the ultimate goal of road safety improvement. For the covering abstract and the URL of the conference see ITRD E205706.
