Abstract

Asset management of electricity network is becoming more and more important in the near future due to fact that the need to reinvest in the network is increasing. To manage investments properly, both technical and economical constraints should be considered comprehensively already in the planning phase. In this paper, an integrated network- planning tool with modern reliability and asset management functionalities is briefly presented. The tool is now integrated as part of the asset management process in Vattenfall. In this paper the utilisation principles of the tool is described. Furthermore, some simplified case studies both in short and long-term network planning is also depicted to shed light on how the tool is used in everyday practice. (4 pages)
