Abstract

Abstract Toxicogenomics refers to a technology wherein gene expression analysis is used in the field of toxicology. Toxicogenomics is based on the relatively simple assumption that toxicants acting through a similar mechanism of action will generate similar gene expression profiles. This article discusses the importance of toxicogenomics in drug discovery and mechanistic toxicology.
