Abstract

A comparative analysis of the regulations controlling the size and weight of trucks in each Canadian province and territory is presented. The review of current vehicle weight and dimension regulations treats such elements as allowable heights, widths and lengths, tire loads and axle loads, and is supplemented by accounts of relevant historical changes to the regulations. Special topics such as seasonal regulations, road classes, tolerances and special permits are also concerned. For the final report of the study see IRRD 807130. (a)
