Abstract

Contingency management (CM), the systematic application of tangible behavioural consequences (reinforcing or punishing) to promote changes in drug use and other therapeutic attainments, contingent upon verified periods of abstinence, treatment attendance or medication compliance, has become one of the best documented interventions in substance abuse treatment.
