Abstract

Pituitary disorders including tumours and hypopituitarism are not rare in older persons. Diagnosis is often delayed. Pituitary tumours respond well to either surgical, radiation or medical therapies. Hypopituitarism is treated by hormonal replacement. Treatment in older persons with diabetes insipidus involves desmopressin. Alterations in water metabolism are common.
