Abstract
An experimental study was carried out to develop a durable cement-asphalt mortar as an under-slab filling for tracks on Tohoku and Joetsu Shinkansen lines in Japan. The study has revealed that development of durable cement-asphalt mortar will be possible by introducing entrained-air. This paper gives an outline of the development and experimental study of cement-asphalt mortar characterized by anti-freezing and thawing, mechanical properties, construction methods, and related subjects.
