Abstract

Objective To study on the methods of breeding Nasonia vitripennis using the frozen fly pupae.MethodsThree kinds of fly pupae,Boettcherisca peregrine,Musca domestica and Lucilia sericata were stored at-20 ℃ and-70 ℃ for different days.Based on laboratory, the parasitic and reproductive capability of Nasonia vitripennis was observed.ResultsThe parasitic rate of frozen fly pupae, emergence rate and female rate of progeny of Nasonia vitripennis were decreased significantly. The decreased ratio had positive relationship with the frozen time. Conclusion Fly pupae frozen at -20 ℃ is better than the pupae frozen at-70 ℃ in breeding Nasonia vitripennis.
