Abstract

An overview of methane recovery methods which depend on biological processes is presented. The microbiology and biochemistry of anaerobic digestion are described. Discussed are: factors affecting the aerobic process; denitrification; process kinetics; applications; anaerobic digester design; offgas measurement of anaerobic digesters; and sludge treatment - soil conditioning and composting. (DMC)
