Abstract

The effect of soil NaCl stress of different gradients on physiological indexes of one year old Sapium sebiferum seedlings was studied. The results showed that soil NaCl stress caused some changes in chlorophyll content, relative permeability of the plasma membrane,MDA,proline content and soluble sugar content. The effect of soil NaCl stress on chlorophyll content in leaves was not marked, but that on proline content was significant. The content of proline under low NaCl stress(0.20%~0.40%)decreased compared with CK,while that under high NaCl stress(0.60%~1.00%)increased.With the NaCl concentration increasing, the content of MDA increased, but that was lower than CK,which showed NaCl stress could cause reduction of MDA in leaves. The soluble sugar content in leaves increased under low NaCl stress(0.20%~0.60%),but that reversed under high NaCl stress(0.80%~1.00%).Though NaCl stress brought some harm to the plasma membrane, that was little, this indicated the ability of resist ance againse NaCl stress of S.sebiferum Seedlings was strong.
