Abstract

One of the major aims of the Road Transport Research Programme (RTR) of the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) is to promote the international transfer of road transport technology through the International Road Research Documentation (IRRD) scheme. This system provides worldwide access to a bibliographical reference data file on road engineering, road safety and road transport research. It is open to all countries, institutions and professional users. This article describes the purpose of IRRD, the organisation of the IRRD membership, and the contents and structure of the IRRD database. (TRRL)
